How I coach

  • Cognitive-behavioral

We identify and work through limiting beliefs and the habits that come with them.

  • Support between sessions

Much of the progress happens between sessions, so I offer support as you apply what we discuss.

  • Tailored to you

Your needs and goals set the agenda and the pace.

  • Doing the hard things

I help you do what you want to do, especially when doing it is hard.

  • Tools and technology

We use practical tools and technology to keep you on track.

  • Very applied

Every session connects to real actions in your work and life.

  • Advice when useful

When it helps, I can shift into a consulting or advising role and share tools, frameworks, and worksheets.

  • Practice in session

We use role plays and real practice in session to build skills before you use them.

Management + Leadership Coaching

For you as a new or experienced manager, team lead, or someone preparing to lead people.

You may be working hard but struggling to meet expectations, preparing for a promotion, or learning to delegate and lead a team for the first time. We can work on the skills and situations that would help you become more effective in your role or prepare for your next one.

Practice and progress

After years studying psychology, behavioral science, education, business, and organizational behavior, I use an evidence-based approach to help you strengthen your professional skills. We begin by articulating your goals and pinpointing the internal and external challenges holding you back. Mindset, Habits + Professional Performance Coaching

For you when perfectionism, procrastination, or burnout get in the way of focus and confidence.

Do you grapple with perfectionism or procrastination, struggle to get started, or fear making mistakes? Maybe you face impostor syndrome or performance anxiety, doubting your capabilities and avoiding the risks that would move your career forward. You can change the way you feel by changing how you think. I use cognitive-behavioral coaching to help you identify and overcome the limiting beliefs and behaviors holding you back.

Practice and progress

We start by identifying the situations where perfectionism, procrastination, anxiety, or self-doubt show up. A thought journal can help you notice unhelpful thoughts and consider other ways to interpret the situation. You try these approaches in daily life, then we review what helped and what needs to change. This is non-clinical coaching, not treatment.

Focus and support

What we can work on

  • Procrastination and avoidance
  • Lack of motivation or follow-through
  • Overthinking, self-doubt, or perfectionism
  • Poor time management and disorganization
  • Burnout, stress, or low energy
  • Unclear goals or feeling directionless

What our work includes

  • Free intro call + goal setting
  • Personalized coaching plan
  • 1:1 coaching sessions
  • Practical tools and resources
  • Accountability and progress tracking
  • Ongoing feedback + adjustments
  • Support between sessions

Academic + Learning Performance Coaching

For you as a learner managing coursework, exams, applications, or a degree.

Do you spend hours studying but still not really understand things? Do you feel overwhelmed by reading and assignments while others seem to finish them easily? You can keep up, succeed in school, and even enjoy learning if you know the right strategies and adopt better systems. My coaching teaches you the science of how people learn and walks you through applying strategies to learn faster and perform better. Unlike tutoring, coaching focuses on how you learn across subjects.

Practice and progress

We start by determining your goals, in and out of school, and identifying what is preventing you from achieving them. Then I show you tools and techniques from the science of learning, and together we put in place a system that works for you: working smarter, not harder. We practice active recall and spaced study with your own material, check understanding and follow-through, and adjust as you learn.

Focus and support

What we can work on

  • Difficulty staying focused and motivated
  • Ineffective study habits and time management
  • Procrastination and deadline stress
  • Overwhelm from workload and competing priorities
  • Lack of confidence or fear of failure
  • Not knowing how to study effectively or retain information
  • Balancing academics with life outside of school

What our work includes

  • Initial discovery session and goal-setting
  • Personalized learning and performance plan
  • 1:1 coaching sessions (virtual)
  • Practical strategies and help following through
  • Tools, templates, and resources
  • Ongoing check-ins and plan adjustments
  • Optional email/text support between sessions

What makes this different from tutoring. Tutoring teaches subject content. Coaching helps you learn more effectively. We build skills, habits, and confidence you can use across subjects and over time, so you can learn more independently.

How I work

The coaching process

Five overlapping phases, adapted to you, starting with a free intro call.

01Assessment + onboarding

We discuss your needs and whether working together makes sense. If we proceed, we agree on terms, review an intake questionnaire, and arrange sessions and shared resources.

02Goals + action planning

We identify the issues you want to address, set measurable goals, and take stock of your strengths, skills, and support. Together, we choose specific actions to try.

03Practice + accountability

You put the plan into practice between sessions. We meet to review progress, work through difficulties, and agree on the support and next steps you need.

04Reflection + adjustment

Alongside practice, we reflect on what you are learning about yourself and the skills you are developing. We adjust goals and plans as your needs change.

05Evaluation + next steps

We review your progress, learning, and feedback on the coaching process. You decide whether to conclude, continue, or work toward new goals.

More about a coaching session

What coaching is and isn't

Coaching and other support

Coaching supports your goals, decisions, and follow-through. It is not therapy, diagnosis, or crisis support. If you need clinical care, I’ll recommend a licensed professional. Coaching can complement therapy, not replace it.

Compare coaching with other kinds of support
Coaching vs.What it doesHow coaching differs
TherapySupports mental health and emotional well-being, including treatment for mental-health conditions. Therapy can address past experiences, present challenges, and future goals.Focuses on learning, skills, decisions, and goals in your life and work. Coaching is non-clinical and is not a substitute for mental-health care.
ConsultingCollaborative analysis of a challenge, with recommendations and support to shape a practical response. We explore your thinking and options together. I offer questions and tools, while you decide what fits your life and work.
MentoringSomeone with relevant experience shares perspective, guidance, and what they have learned.I do not need to have followed the same path to help you reflect on it. We explore your situation and the choices that make sense to you.
TrainingFacilitated learning and practice to develop shared knowledge, skills, and ways of working.Personalized work focused on your goals, patterns, and follow-through. Coaching can support application between and after training sessions.
AdvisingOffers recommendations based on relevant knowledge or experience.Gives you time to consider your options and choose a step you are willing to try.
Accountability partnersOffer regular check-ins, encouragement, and support with commitments.Brings goal-setting, practical behavior-change tools, reflection, and accountability together.
